WOW.

Man, I love simple, brainless knitting! Catching up on season 6 of Spooks before I can watch my boyfriend Richard Armitage in season 7 (the poor man has no idea of the torch I bear for him - of course, that may be a good thing!) and knitting and - lookie here - left front of the wrapover is already done! Started when? When, I hear you ask? Friday, the answer would be. And I got 1/4 of the way done and had to rip it out because I forgot to change needles. I hate it when I do that.
My mum always tells me I knit fast, and I never believe her, but this could be a wee bit of proof.

Hmmm....

I realized something rather sad tonight. Cromarty is becoming a chore. It has lost its joy.
Therefore, I must begin something new to bring back the magic. So I've begun the Simple Wrapover from Debbie Bliss in amazing alpaca silk that I've had stashed for a year. Sumptuous is the only word for this yarn. And in red, no less. Va va va voom!

The Upside of being Sick

This is how my day goes: cough up a lung, become really tired from said coughing, have a nap, go on Internet and find new knitting projects, repeat.
Isn't this lovely? And then I emailed Karen the Yarn Goddess at Sheepstrings and she's ordered the pattern and yarn for me. Ooooooo. Then I went on Ravelry and queued it and entered it into the database. Now I'm tired again.
Okay, back to bed.

I am such a sucker

But I defy you to resist this sad face. She's completely mastered it, hasn't she?
Destroyed sweater? What destroyed sweater?

The HOUND FROM HELL!!!!!!

It's a very, very, very, very times a billion good thing that I am a dyed-in-the-wool (no pun intended) animal lover because Rosebud has just come very close to dying.
I went into the kitchen to get a popsicle. 15 seconds later I came back into the living room to find her on the floor with Cromarty in her mouth. Ripped off the needle and about 6 rows half ripped out.
Somehow I didn't freak. I didn't cry or hit her or anything. I am frightening myself with how calm I am. There is massive repair work to be done. I have no idea what row I'm on now.
I can't even figure out how she got it. I was sure I put it out of her reach.
I did not take a picture to show you. I don't need anything for posterity. This is something that, very zen-like, needs to be lived through and forgotten ASAP.
I think I feel a headache coming on, though.

Hound of Destruction

So here is the proof of why not much knitting is being done lately. I'm sick so I was in bed all day. I didn't want to leave Rosebud in her crate all day so I left her out, and I put a puppy pad by the front door in case she needed out and I missed her signal. She decided that the puppy pad was a toy. This is the result. I actually picked up all the big pieces before it occurred to me to take a picture of the destruction. Now imagine this with yarn. I see the tears in your eyes. A tragic waste of yarn that would be (Yoda voice!). So that's why I haven't been knitting lately. I think now you all understand.

Canine culpa?

Wow, my mother is the one who told me I hadn't posted in a while. I didn't think she did anything on the computer besides email and play spider solitaire!
Rosebud has been keeping me very busy. It's kind of hard to knit when a puppy is attacking your needles and yarn. It's even more difficult than with the idiot cat, because Bronte weighs next to nothing and I can just hurl her across the room, but Rosebud must weigh about 20lb right now and is even more stubborn than me, if possible. When she wants yarn, she wants yarn.
On the upside, I replaced the needle she ate with an Addi turbo. Oooooo. If you haven't gone turbo yet, what the heck are you waiting for??? I'm really hoping to get Cromarty done this month so I can move on to something simpler. I think I'll dig out that yummy Debbie Bliss alpaca silk I bought ages ago to do that wrap sweater from her alpaca silk book. Simple, shouldn't take long. Unless, of course, I get bored with it as so often happens with plain designs.
Speaking of designs, I have one in my head right now. But I don't know if it's something I've come up with or I saw somewhere else. Don't you hate it when early Alzheimers strikes?
